Fairy Falls by greglief Fairy Falls by greglief
Thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery. Faves and comments are always appreciated! Also, I invite you to download this image to use as desktop wallpaper. Please respect my work by not printing, selling, or reposting it.

A steep hike leads away from the crowds of tourists and up to Fairy Falls. Although it is only 20 foot high, it is probably more photogenic than some of the other nearby (much higher) Gorge waterfalls.

If you enjoy this photo, please take a few moments to visit my Waterscapes gallery.

Fairy Falls can look quite different during the winter:

Lush, green, and gorgeous. This photo captures so many of the things I love about the Pacific Northwest
(and oh, how I would love to model there)

I love waterfalls like this one! Just the way the water has to flow around the rocks, split into 100s of other small falls.

Great shot! Love the exposure and the lush ferns.

Keep it up!

Yes, the shutter speed for this photo was 1.6 seconds. Nothing tricky... just the circular polarizer (which I leave on the lens 99% of the time anyway) and my trusty tripod. :)

Nice shot Greg! I hate to be the one to point this out but this fall is nowhere near 60 feet. The Northwest Waterfall database has it listed at 20 feet. That is a more proper measurement.

D'oh! Of course... I don't know why I put 60 feet in the description. It's nowhere near that high. I will update the description.

I never would have known had I not been there myself once. Too sunny for me that day, no usable shots. You got her nice & proper though.

your works are amazing. i haven't gotten to comment on them yet as far as i know so i decided to comment on this one. i dont know where this is in Oregon, but i will go there someday. and to the devil's staircase, i believe the name was. the lush greenery in Oregon is so breath-taking. i dont know if anywhere else has such stunning little places as we do, but Oregon definitely is my favorite state. i haven't traveled outside of wash, idaho, cali, and nevada, but everything i need is right here in Oregon. now, back onto the picture, i got sidetracked hehe. the bark on the tree towards the bottom is super pretty and it really brings the picture together. i'm a sucker for waterfalls anyway, they always have been one of my faves. keep capturing nature man! you do it wonderfully!
