Falls Creek Falls by greglief Falls Creek Falls by greglief
Thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery. Faves and comments are always appreciated! Please respect my work by not printing, selling, or reposting it. If you share it via Twitter, Facebook, or tumblr, please include my photo credit. Thanks!

Located in Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Falls Creek Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest. It has three tiers, only two of which are visible at any given time.

NOTE: When displayed at its default size, the photo may appear a bit "soft". FULL VIEW is highly recommended for better appreciation of detail.

(Nikon D90, Tokina 11-16 lens, circular polarizer, f/22, 1/2.5 seconds, Bogen/Manfrotto tripod)

Another great waterfall, Panther Creek Falls, is in the same area:

Beautiful looking falls with a great angle allowing you to see the power of the water as it crashes down into the pool. The greenness of the surroundings makes it look very fresh too.

What conditions and time did you take this picture? I have been there several times and each time conditions are not desirable. You got a pic I have dreamt of getting of these falls.

I have visited Falls Creek Falls on many occasions. The key is to visit on a cloudy or overcast (or even rainy!) day to avoid direct sunlight upon the water. When I have been there on a sunny day, I did not even bother taking my camera out of my bag because I knew that I would not get a good shot.

This is one of those falls that no matter the time of day, it reflects too much light! Its on my cloudy day trip list ;)

Agreed. I have learned never to visit unless it is cloudy/overcast/rainy.
