Little Niagara Falls, Study 1 by greglief Little Niagara Falls, Study 1 by greglief
Thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery. Faves and comments are always appreciated! Please respect my work by not printing, selling, or reposting it. If you share it via Twitter, Facebook, or tumblr, please include my photo credit. Thanks!

A difficult 1/3 mile bushwhack leads you to one of the most photogenic waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest. Little Niagara Falls might be small by comparison to the "real" Niagara Falls, but it is still quite large... 75 feet high and 80 feet wide.

I converted this to monochrome because, unlike most of my waterfall studies, there was very little foliage/greenery from this angle.

NOTE: When displayed at its default size, the photo may appear a bit "soft". FULL VIEW is highly recommended for better appreciation of detail.

(Nikon D90, Tokina 11-16 lens, circular polarizer, f/22, 1 second, Bogen/Manfrotto tripod)

Beautiful shot! I'm thinking it was well worth the hike!

Thanks, Wayne! It was a bit more involved than a hike (steep crumbly bushwhack followed by wading a strong creek), but yes, it was absolutely worth the effort. I plan to return when I have more time to linger at the waterfall.

!
I've never seen a photo of this guy!

I have GOT to get out into the GP forest... evidently, I have not lived.

You have too lived! Not many people actually see this waterfall, because of the difficulty involved. Nearby Langfield Falls is infinitely easier to access.

You will love it! Don't forget about the waterfalls on the Lewis River.
