Tom McCall Point is in the eastern Columbia River Gorge. In early May the balsamroot and lupine display attracts hundreds of visitors. This photograph was taken from the trail leading up to Tom McCall Point, facing west. The Memaloose Hills are visible in the upper center of the frame, and the Columbia River meanders through the top half of the frame.

NOTE: When displayed at its default size, the photo may appear a bit "soft". FULL VIEW is highly recommended for better appreciation of detail.

(Technical Notes: Nikon D90, Nikon 18-200mm lens, circular polarizer, f/6.3, 1/250 second)

I love the way that you've framed this shot, Greg.  The lupine and balsamroot are the first draw, but then I linger for quite a while on the fencerow in the foreground before taking in the background.  Nicely captured!
