Thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery! Faves, comments, collecting, and recommendations are always appreciated. Please respect my work by not printing, selling, or reposting it.

During late May, I revisited what has become one of the most popular off-trail waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge... the tiny but picturesque Lower Ruckel Creek Falls. It requires a fairly steep hike followed by a fairly steep bushwhack (through plentiful poison oak), but the rewards are evident.

NOTE: When displayed at its default size, the photo may appear a bit "soft". FULL VIEW is highly recommended for better appreciation of detail.

(Technical details: Nikon D90, Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 tripod, Tokina AT-X 116 lens, B+W Circular Polarizer, f/11, 1/2 second.)

If you enjoy this photo, please take a few moments to visit my Waterscapes gallery.

The wide view really shows off the foliage and the mossy cliffs. Great work!
How do you like the Tokina as compared to the Nikon 12-24mm?

After having used the Tokina 1116 for a full year, I think that the only advantage to the Nikon 12-24 would be its additional coverage beyond 16mm. But this is a moot point for me, because my next lens starts at 18mm -- if I really, really need to shoot at 17mm, then I will zoom with my feet. :)

There have also been a few situations where the difference between 11mm and 12mm was useful for my compositions.

Finally, it's hard to argue with the price tag... the Tokina is approximately half the price of the Nikon.
