Mossbrae Falls is a beautiful and unique waterfall located in the Northern California town of Dunsmuir. It is approximately 50 feet high and 150 feet wide, and resembles a wall more than a traditional waterfall. Also unique is the access... a one-mile "hike" along the Union Pacific Railroad. Fortunately the trains do not run frequently along this stretch, which would be mildly disconcerting. Although I did my best to document it, frankly there is no way that ANY photograph could do this waterfall justice.

I love all your pics, it would be hard for me to find a fave! I can't believe I travel from our home in Fresno, CA to our home in Grants Pass, OR and never knew there were so many beautiful waterfalls along the way!!! I may have to stop for a hike in Dunsmuir!!!
You should definitely take the time to visit Mossbrae Falls while passing through Dunsmuir. It is a relatively easy hike (though it is somewhat odd to walk along railway tracks). I don't know if they have improved the signage since my visit... there were ZERO signs.
