Near Pamelia Lake by greglief Near Pamelia Lake by greglief
Thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery. Faves and comments are always appreciated! Also, I invite you to download this image to use as desktop wallpaper. Please respect my work by not printing, selling, or reposting it.

I discovered this stream when backpacking at Pamelia Lake in Oregon's Mount Jefferson Wilderness area. I had brought my Gorillapod rather than my customary (and much heavier) Manfrotto tripod, so it was a struggle for me to achieve a good vantage point because I was limited to 10 inches off the ground! Eventually I settled for this spot, set my exposure time for ten seconds, and hoped for the best.

When I got home, I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this turned out. The little Gorillapod managed to hold my camera steady so that the focus was completely crisp! But next time I will lug my regular tripod so that I will have more flexibility.

(Technical details: Nikon D70, Gorillapod SLR tripod, Nikon 12-24 mm lens, Hoya Circular Polarizer, f/22, 10 seconds.)

If you enjoy this photo, please take a few moments to visit my Waterscapes gallery.

Nicely done. I think the richness of the earthtones in the background really add to it.

Thank you! I was lucky to get this shot... somehow my tiny tripod managed to hold the camera still for 10 seconds.

Gorillapod SLR or SLR-zoom? Photo looks great, but the camera is not such a light one. Greets

I was using a normal Gorillapod because I could not find a Gorillapod SLR in time for that trip. It was quite precarious, to say the least.
