Proxy Falls, Study 2010-3L by greglief Proxy Falls, Study 2010-3L by greglief
Thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery! Faves, comments, collecting, and recommendations are always appreciated. Please respect my work by not printing, selling, or reposting it.

Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, I have been fortunate enough to see (and photographing) hundreds of waterfalls. Proxy Falls remains my favorite. If you visit the Pacific Northwest, you should make every attempt to visit this incredible waterfall. If you have a camera, you can easily spend an entire afternoon here. Trail information/directions can be found here.

I made my annual pilgrimage on Friday the 13th (of August). This is one of the keepers. Here are the other two:

If you missed it, here is my frontal shot from last year's "Proxy Photo Pilgrimage":

(Technical details: Nikon D90, Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 tripod, Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX lens, Hoya Circular Polarizer, f/11, 1.6 seconds.)

If you enjoy this photo, please take a few moments to visit my Waterscapes gallery.

I love the perspective on this shot. Head-on photos of falls can be beautiful, but to my eye the angle and framing that you chose make this a standout.

Oh damn! My apologizes. I thought you have already sold your photo to the company or something, that's why I told you that. But seeing that you got kinda worried, I took my phone to check the photo and I realized that it's a VERY alike one, but it is not the same. I didn't want to worry you or something, because I thought "you already know about it". It was just a mistake. I'm feeling really stupid now, I'm really sorry if you got worried with my comment. )x

(And sorry for my english too, I hope you understand me)

No problem! I wasn't at all worried. And I think that your English is perfectly fine. :)

This is gorgeous! I prefer this angle to the other two - probably due to the full effect of the falls - but also for the added lines in the trees. Lovely shot!

I work with a couple models that are like that - every picture is beautiful, and so much fun to work with, I forget that I'm supposed to be working. :)

This is hot! I love it. I wish you would do a "whole scene" panoramic/photo stitch on these falls though :(

I have considered it from the left or right side, but have to actually do it. The light conditions would have to be perfect, i.e., no sun whatsoever. For what it is worth, I have taken a couple of wide frontal shots which include the entire waterfall: [link] [link] I'm not wild about these because IMO they distort and diminish the size of the waterfall.

This is really beautifulm, the slowed down effect of the water works really well and gives a sort of magical feel to the scene.
