Thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery. Faves and comments are always appreciated! Also, I invite you to download this image to use as desktop wallpaper. Please respect my work by not printing, selling, or reposting it.

Sweet Creek is located in the Siuslaw National Forest near Florence, Oregon. This is one of many beautiful vantage points along the creek.

If you enjoy this photo, please take a few moments to visit my Waterscapes gallery.

Does the water look like that naturally or do you alter the picture in some way?

I used a long shutter speed (half a second) to get the "gossamer" silky effect.

Ok, thank you. I always see this effect and never quite understood how they did it. Is this how they make the fire/spark and such effect?

I am not exactly certain of the "fire/spark" that you are referring to, but mounting a camera upon a tripod and lengthening the shutter speed can result in many interesting effects. Here are several examples: [link] [link] and you can find MANY more in this club: [link]

What I mean about fire/spark is how they turn the long sparklers around in various shapes, somewhat like the stars and long-shutters. Like this: [link] But thank you for the answers and the group, I'll certainly take a look.

Thanks! I know that you know the precise spot. The water flow is generally a bit lower than what I saw on that particular day.

I was going to say that the water is quite plentiful. :)

I'd love to go back to the Florence area again sometime. I had just gotten a film camera the first time I was there and had yet to really get into photography.

It looks quite powerful, and you've captured the mood so well.
